Julie Evans is a woman in search of a sequel.

After escaping from The Firm and pulling a Runaway Bride, she expected to find--if not herself--at least adventure. So far though, all she's found is the bottom of a macaroon box and her uncle Leo's old 1980s action movie trilogy: Try Hard, Try Harder and Again with the Trying.

All that changes when the handsome star of Pulpier Fiction and The French Canadian Connection, Ian Hunter, helps save her uncle from a couple of back-alley thugs. But it wasn't just a garden-variety mugging and Ian Hunter wasn't there by chance. The truth behind a twenty-year old murder is about to be exposed and the thugs aren't the only ones who think Leo is the key. Ian believes Leo has proof that will exonerate his grandfather for a murder he didn't commit—film of the crime itself. But all Leo has are some embarrassing home movies and a little sciatica.

Sparks fly as Julie and Ian search for the proof that will save her uncle and his grandfather. If they don't find it in time, their Hollywood ending won't be a happy one.

I haven't read the book yet. I just bought it. But, I'd just like to comment on the cover. It looks like a girly book, like a chick flick kind of signature. Being a women I like it but I think a man may feel awkward carry a book around with that cover.. Maybe I'm wrong. It's just a thought. I'd be curious as to how many men buy this book in comparison to women. I loved your Out Of Time series. And the covers on those seemed so nondescript toward anyone.

Hi Laurie!

First, thanks for picking it up. I hope you enjoy it.

Your assessment is spot on. Because this book is a cozy mystery/romcom, I'm targeting women far more so than men. I think the cover is in line with both genres. And you're also right that I chose not to go romancy with the Out of Time covers to keep from scaring off male readers. I know the series starts off with strong romance, but definitly grows into more adventure/mystery, in addition to the relationship. I'm trying to find that balance with the Jack covers. Hopefully, I've succeeded. Time will tell!

I've read the first 6 books in the Out of Time series. Wonderful reads. The last three I read one after the other, and couldn't put them down. Looking forward to continue reading about their adventures.

Loved all 8 of the Out of Time series. When can #9 be pre ordered?
